Why Eastgate

Pet gear designed to human standards.

We were tired of choosing between gear that looked good and gear that worked. So we built a brand that refused the trade-off.

Where we started

Eastgate began with a simple frustration. Walk into most pet shops and you're asked to pick a side: the product that looks like it belongs in your home, or the product that actually holds up on a European city street in a downpour. We didn't want to choose. Your pet shouldn't have to either.

So we set a standard. Every item we sell has to meet the same bar we'd hold our own things to, the bag we carry, the shoes we wear, the gear we trust. If it wouldn't pass for us, it doesn't pass for them.

How we choose products

We source from makers who already apply that standard. We look at materials, hardware, stitching and how a thing behaves after a hundred uses, not just out of the box. We turn down far more than we list. A product earns its place by being genuinely better, quieter, stronger, easier to live with, not by being new.

Tested across Europe

Everything is tested where it's used. Cobblestones, canal walks, tram commutes, summer heat, sudden rain, Europe is hard on gear, and that's the point. If a harness chafes on a mountain trail or a carrier wilts in a heatwave, we find out before you do. We ship right across Europe, straight to your door.

Giving back

A share of every sale supports animal shelters across Europe, rescue, care and adoption. It's built into how we work, not bolted on at the end.

Where we're going

We're early, and we like it that way. The range will grow slowly and deliberately. The standard won't move.
